Normally the cost of stainless steel casting can be split into two sides. One is Tooling Cost, which includes the mold cost of stainless steel casting, and may also include the fixture fee if machining will be operated as well. In most cases, the mold cost of stainless steel casting is around 1200-2500usd.
The other is Unit Cost. As the initial material cost of stainless steel is high, so unit cost of stainless steel casting looks much higher than other steel castings.
Unit cost for stainless steel casting include: material cost + casting cost + machining cost + surface finish cost + package & shipping cost.
Material cost: Material cost of stainless steel casting is decided by the material grade. SS316(L) will be more expensive than SS304(L).
Casting cost: Casting cost is calculated according to the structure of parts. Complex parts will cost more.
Machining cost: Cost of machining will be counted by the machining difficulty.The larger the machining diffculty is,the higher the cost will be.
Surface treatment: There are many kinds of surface treatment ways of stainless steel castings. So the surface treatment cost deponds on your requirement.
Package & Shipping cost: We could pack stainless steel castings following customer’s demands.Normally we just protect the products with ploybay,and then put in wooden cases.For more careful package,the cost is higher.Shipping cost is counted also.

Quantity is also a considering factor for quoting. Large quantity will help you to get lower price.
Target price
Price is important when choosing suppliers, but it does not mean the lowest price is your best choice. When you think highly of a potential stainless steel casting supplier, but their price is beyond your budget, you should let them know your target price to move on cooperation.
Lead time
Before placing orders, it is also necessary to confirm lead time with your stainless steel casting supplier to see whether it is meet your purchasing plan. If time is hurry, you may consider using multiple suppliers at the same time.
